Sizing

As a small business, we're doing our best to be inclusive of all sizes. For now, we have limited sizing and stock. But! We’re working hard to expand so more people can feel good in our pieces. Every bit of support means the world and helps us grow, so thank you for being here.
We also know it’s not always possible to match your exact measurements with our Size Guide, so we recommend choosing the size that’s closest to yours for the best fit. Please also check out our How to Measure guide for extra help in finding your perfect size.
Also, please keep in mind that we prioritize comfort and flexibility in every piece. That’s why we’ve added features like adjustable shoulder straps, ribbons as straps on some dresses so you can tighten or loosen as you wish, and removable ties on dresses if you want a fitter look. You can find these specific details on each product’s page.

How To Measure

Here’s a simple guide to help you find your best fit. Don’t stress, it doesn’t have to be perfect!
1. Grab a friend if you can: It’s way easier to get accurate measurements with someone else helping. But if you’re flying solo, stand in front of a full-length mirror so you can see what you’re doing.
2. Keep it level: Make sure the measuring tape is wrapped around you evenly and stays parallel to the floor.
3. Not too tight, not too loose: The tape should sit snugly against your body, not squeezing but not hanging loose either.

Bust:
Wear a bra if you normally do. Measure around the fullest part of your chest, right across the nipples.
Waist: Find the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above your belly button. The tape should stay put and not slide up or down.
Hips: It’s not your hip bones but the fullest part of your booty. Wrap the tape around the widest point (turn sideways in the mirror to find the most sticky-outy spot). If the tape slides up or down and gets tighter, you haven’t hit the right spot yet.
Take your time and remember, this is all about helping you feel good in your clothes!

About Us

How We Started & The Inspiration

Hey, I’m Martina! Hey Moneca was born from one of those deep gut feelings that just made sense. Starting something like this in a big city like Vancouver, surrounded by so many incredible brands, was definitely scary…but I knew in my heart this was something I needed to do. And more importantly, something I wanted to do for the girlies.

The name Moneca was inspired by muñeca (Spanish) and manika (Filipino/Tagalog), both meaning “doll.” So Hey Moneca is kind of like our version of “Hi Barbie!” but made for our own community. A space for girlies who want to feel good and do good.

Growing up, I've always loved dressing up, definitely got that from my mom. But when I got to university, I found myself deep in the world of healthcare, neuroscience, and environmental sustainability. I spent years researching, organizing, and advocating for issues that matter to me. At one point, I was UBC’s Sustainability Ambassador, led zero-waste campaigns, and worked on eco-focused projects. Now, as I wrap up my Master’s in Health Equity & Sustainability, I started asking:

What can I build outside of health and policy that still aligns with my values.. and also sparks joy?

That’s how Hey Moneca came to life. A space where I can pour my heart into creating thoughtful, sustainable, high-quality pieces that don’t just look good, but feel good and do good. Our very first collection is crafted from 100% cotton and designed with longevity and joy in mind.

I hope Hey Moneca becomes a home for girlies with shared dreams, values, and energy. Where you can feel seen, inspired, and part of something beautiful.
